HOW IT WORKS?

4 steps to actually speak English.

01 / 04

The AI asks. You answer.

Dica's AI asks you questions about what's happening in the video, right when it happens. You end up talking about the video naturally — without thinking about it.

03 / 04

Corrections that help you progress

Dica spots your mistakes in real time and tells you why. Each one is saved, ready for review later.

Your vocab turns into flashcards. Your grammar gets a deep dive. Review everything on your own terms.

WHY I BUILT THIS

Hey, I'm Steve. I built Dica because I needed it.

I'm a product designer in Paris. I've been trying to speak English for 10 years. I can read everything, write decent docs, follow movies. But the moment I have to talk, my brain freezes.

I tried Duolingo. Babbel. Two private tutors. Apps with streaks, mascots, gamified everything. None of them made me actually speak. I'd finish a session, close the app, and freeze again on the next call.

So I built Dica — the tool I needed to run that loop every day. Real videos. Real talking. Real corrections. Real progress.

If you've been stuck at the same wall, this is for you too.

FAQ

Questions?

Wait, it's actually free?

Yep. Joining the beta is 100% free. Early members get a special deal when we launch.

When can I try it?

Beta is rolling out now. Drop your email and we'll send you the TestFlight (iOS) and Play Store (Android) link the second it's ready.

What level do I need?

Anywhere from A1 to C1. The AI adapts to where you are. If you can read this, you can use Dica.

How is this different from Duolingo?

Duolingo teaches you to translate sentences and keep streaks. People who've used it for years still freeze when they speak. Dica is the opposite: real videos, real conversations, no streak game.

How is this different from just watching YouTube?

Watching alone is passive. With Dica, every video becomes a conversation where you actually practice. Corrections are integrated, not pop quizzes.
